Our Story

A Legacy of Faith

From humble beginnings in Clinton to our current home in Londesborough, Fellowship Bible Chapel has been a place where believers gather to worship, learn, and grow together in Christ.

1951Fall

The Beginning of a Work

It was the fall of 1951 and a small group of Christians had just finished construction on what was then known as the "Maple Street Gospel Hall". A new church in Clinton had started, and much excitement surrounded the event.

1970

The Growth of a Work

Over the years, new families started attending and the numbers increased. 1970 saw the name of the building changed to "Fellowship Bible Chapel", but the teaching and beliefs remained the same as they had from the very start.

Many have been a part of our local testimony including the families of Munnings, Lowey, Reid, Cox, Martin, Harris, Brubacher, Avery, MacKenzie, Gelling, Nicholson, Plant, Lobb, among others.

The assembly has also had the privilege to commend many to the Lord's work around the world. These include Fred & Hilda Munnings, Hank & Beryl Gelling, Esther Martin, Rhoda Munnings, and Florence Martin.

2001Fall

The Move to Londesborough

In October of 2001 we moved up Highway #4 to our current location at the former municipal office in Londesborough. The well-constructed building and 2 acres of land serves as the ideal facility for our many activities.

We meet together each week to remember the Lord Jesus Christ and all He has done for us. We teach the complete Word of God, pray together, and build each other up as we live our daily lives.

The Bible alone is our guide and we accept it to be infallible, inspired by God Himself, and completely sufficient for this present age. We meet simply in the name of Christ and look to Him as the head and authority of our lives.

The Bible teaches the plurality of leadership and, as such, we do not have a single pastor, but a group of leaders.

Present

The Ongoing Testimony

Not something to be kept quiet, the good news of the Lord Jesus and the salvation He offers is a truth we wish to share with others around us. Open-air meetings in the summer, home-based Bible studies, and informal "coffee hours" are ways in which we have enjoyed interacting with our neighbours through the years.
